In the Class, we will discuss:

  1. The True Purpose of Healthy Eating & the "side effects"
  2. Basic Food Categories: Macro-Nutrient Break Down & their effects on the body
  3. Basic physiology: The Insulin Response & Acid Base Balance
  4. The Practice: What to Eat & How much
  5. Cleansing & Supplements

We are also hosting an on going  EAT REAL Challenge based on Paleo Nutrition (how our paleolithic ancestors ate). Following a "Paleo diet" has been known to improve ALL physiological markers (BP, triglycerides, HDL's and LDL's (good and bad fats) blood sugar and more) it decreases or eliminates most auto immune conditions, improves performance, physique/body composition, energy levels, balances hormones, regulates mood and the benefits go on and on and on.... did I mention - it helps you to look better, feel better and perform better!! Those are the goals of this challenge. You do not have to be a Des Moines local to participate in this Challenge. It can also be done via email/phone and web. So here it is:

I can forward a sample week's meal plan. If you are up for the Challenge, I will customize the meal plan so that you receive a properly portioned version of the plan which will change each week. (recipes will be included as well and you will get a new meal plan each week)

  • We will assess individual goals
  • we can take blood work and urine analysis if you are working on health markers
  • We will take before and after pictures
  • We will have 3 measured WOD's to complete pre and post for those of you looking to improve/measure your performance (WOD's are work outs)
  • We will ask you to write a "short" essay about your experience - good, bad, beautiful or ugly.

The Challenge will begin when you are ready to start and will continue for 60 days (8 weeks).

The cost of the challenge is only $130.

This will include:

  • all 8 weeks of meal planning/portioning & recipes
  • up to 4 follow up 1 on 1 consultations
  • body composition analysis
  • a 10 day cleanse (detox kit)
  • follow up supplementation and further recommendations
  • Accountability measures
  • unlimited email access


We will assess how you are following the meal plan, completing WOD's (or other approved physical activity) water intake, sleep/recovery time & goal achievement.

You do not have to be a CrossFit member to complete this challenge in regard to the WOD's (however, of course - we recommend that everyone participate in the WOD's because they are fun and we are all pretty cool like that....) Feel free to pass this on to friends/family members that you think would be interested, when we do things as a group, we tend to get better results and it is more fun when you have friends or family to share the experience with. (couples speak to me about a discounted rate) .
